The demand for polysilicon market is booming, and the import volume is nearly 20,000 tons.

Abstract According to latest customs data show that in June 2010 imports of domestic polysilicon 3784 tons, an increase of 14.9%, an increase of 208.1 percent year on year. From January to June, the total domestic imports of polysilicon was 19,330 tons. "China Investment Consultant released "...

According to the latest data from the customs, the domestic polysilicon import volume in June 2010 was 3,784 tons, an increase of 14.9% from the previous month and an increase of 208.1% from the same period last year. From January to June, the total domestic imports of polysilicon was 19,330 tons.

According to the “2010-2015 China Polysilicon Industry Investment Analysis and Prospect Forecast Report” issued by China Investment Consultant, the cumulative import volume of China's polysilicon in the first five months of 2010 was 15.5 million tons, an increase of 121.9% compared with the 7007 tons in the same period last year. . In terms of monthly, the import volume of polysilicon in China from January to May 2010 was: 3158 tons, 2647 tons, 3239 tons, 3280 tons, and 3222 tons. Compared with the same period of last year, it has been in a high position.

Jiang Qian, chief researcher of CIC's new energy industry, pointed out that the total amount of polysilicon imports in China in 2009 was about 20,000 tons. In the first half of this year, the figure has reached 19,33 million tons, which is close to the level of last year. Behind this is the continued rise in the global PV market, and the explosive growth in the shipments of battery modules from domestic PV manufacturers, which has led to strong demand for upstream raw material polysilicon.

Since the beginning of 2010, with the gradual warming of the global economy, coupled with the stimulating effect of governments promoting the solar energy policy, the photovoltaic industry has shown a strong recovery. According to the latest statistics, in the first half of 2010, the global PV module shipments were about 7GW, not only far exceeding the annual installation level before the financial crisis, but also the same as the global new installed capacity last year.

Jiang Qian pointed out that with the market share of more than 40% of Chinese PV manufacturers, the shipments of domestic manufacturers of PV modules should be above 3GW in the previous year. Taking Jingao Solar as an example, in the first half of this year, the company produced a total of 582MW of solar cells, with a sales volume of 582MW and a sales income of 6 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 500%. In 2009, the company's total delivery volume was 509 MW. When domestic polysilicon production capacity has not been truly released, the huge demand gap can only be filled by imports. Therefore, the domestic polysilicon imports in the first half of this year reached 19,333 tons, which is not difficult to understand.

Behind the strong market demand, the price of polysilicon is rising. Since March 2010, the price of photovoltaic products has continued to rise worldwide. Taking solar battery prices as an example, the average global solar cell price in the first quarter remained at around 1.3 euros/watt, but by the end of June it was at $1.42/ Wa, the chain increase is close to 7%. This has also led to the current domestic spot price of polysilicon has risen from 410-415/kg in April to 425-445/ton.

Thermally Inactive Reflective Liner material is a 3layer co-ertruded Geomembrane. The product core and inferior layer remain black which doesn`t affect any technical properties of the liner. By changing the composition of the superior layer the addition of a pure white pigment composed of UV additives, Tianhai created a product that offers additional on-site benefits suitable for various applications.

Geomembranes were created to contain solids and fluids for very long periods. As such, they need to have high endurance properties. One of the best additives for plastics to resist to UV degradation is carbon black. However, this results in having black geomembrane. Black geomembrane will get very hot when exposed to sunlight because of its high expansion/contraction coefficient.
Tianhai innovated in developing a new reflective geomembrane. While having obvious aesthetic advantages, the reflective liner will also reflect the sunlight and reduce the temperature of the geomembrane. This reduction in temperature will reduce the expansion/contraction of the geomembrane which will allow for an easier installation and reduce wrinkles in the liner. For composite liner systems, reducing the wrinkles will increase the intimate contact between the liner and the low permeability sub layer which will lead to a more efficient impermeable system. It will also slow down the aging process and increase its service life.
Another advantage of the reflective geomembrane is the contrast between the white surface layer and the black core of the liner. This allows easy identification of visual defects as they will be more apparent than on traditional black geomembranes.
While reflective geomembranes seem to only offer aesthetical advantages, as expressed above, significant benefits result from using reflective geomembrane over traditional black geomembrane.

• Minimizes heat absorption – and resulting thermal expansion – by up to 50%
• Significantly improves damaged detection via white signal layer
• Available in HDPE, LLDPE, MicroSpike texturing and smooth surface
