According to the â€œ2010-2015 China Polysilicon Industry Investment Analysis and Prospect Forecast Reportâ€ issued by China Investment Consultant, the cumulative import volume of China's polysilicon in the first five months of 2010 was 15.5 million tons, an increase of 121.9% compared with the 7007 tons in the same period last year. . In terms of monthly, the import volume of polysilicon in China from January to May 2010 was: 3158 tons, 2647 tons, 3239 tons, 3280 tons, and 3222 tons. Jiang Qian, chief researcher of CIC's new energy industry, pointed out that the total amount of polysilicon imports in China in 2009 was about 20,000 tons. Behind this is the continued rise in the global PV market, and the explosive growth in the shipments of battery modules from domestic PV manufacturers, which has led to strong demand for upstream raw material polysilicon.
Since the beginning of 2010, with the gradual warming of the global economy, coupled with the stimulating effect of governments promoting the solar energy policy, the photovoltaic industry has shown a strong recovery. According to the latest statistics, in the first half of 2010, the global PV module shipments were about 7GW, not only far exceeding the annual installation level before the financial crisis, but also the same as the global new installed capacity last year.
Jiang Qian pointed out that with the market share of more than 40% of Chinese PV manufacturers, the shipments of domestic manufacturers of PV modules should be above 3GW in the previous year. Taking Jingao Solar as an example, in the first half of this year, the company produced a total of 582MW of solar cells, with a sales volume of 582MW and a sales income of 6 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 500%. Behind the strong market demand, the price of polysilicon is rising. Since March 2010, the price of photovoltaic products has continued to rise worldwide. Taking solar battery prices as an example, the average global solar cell price in the first quarter remained at around 1.3 euros/watt, but by the end of June it was at $1.42/ Wa, the chain increase is close to 7%.
